Right after your session, your new tattoo is essentially an open wound. It takes about one month for your skin barrier to fully heal. Strict hygiene during this period is essential to prevent infection and ensure your tattoo heals beautifully.

✦ Step-by-Step Care

• 0–3 Hours (Dressing): If your tattoo is wrapped in standard cling film, remove it within 2–3 hours (never leave it on overnight). If a second-skin adhesive bandage (film) was applied, you can keep it on for 3–5 days. However, remove it immediately if fluid leaks out, redness spreads, or pus forms.
• 3–24 Hours: Wash your hands thoroughly, then gently wash the tattoo with unscented liquid soap. Pat dry with a clean, disposable paper towel. Apply a very thin layer of aftercare ointment.
• Days 1–14: Apply the ointment 4–8 times a day to keep the tattoo from drying out. Scabbing and peeling are normal—never pick, scratch, or peel the skin.
• After 1 Month (Fully Healed): To prevent fading, always apply SPF 30+ sunscreen to your tattoo when exposed to the sun.

✚ Recommended Ointment

We highly recommend using a dedicated tattoo aftercare cream or Bepanthen Ointment (Bepanthen Tattoo / First Aid) for normal healing.

• How to apply: Apply a very minimal, paper-thin layer. Your skin needs to breathe. Over-moisturizing can clog pores and delay healing.
• Do NOT use: Vaseline, Neosporin, or any antibiotic ointments unless explicitly prescribed by a doctor for an infection.

✖ Strictly Prohibited During Healing

• Picking or pulling scabs (This will pull the ink out and cause scarring).
• Swimming, saunas, or soaking in baths (Extremely high risk of bacterial infection).
• Scented soaps or alcohol-based cleansers (Can irritate and inflame the skin).
• Applying sunscreen before it is fully healed.
• Heavy drinking (Lowers your immune system and promotes inflammation).

◆ Signs of Infection (When to see a doctor)

Mild redness, slight swelling, clear fluid, and soreness are completely normal for the first 2-3 days. However, please do not apply antibiotic ointment on your own and seek medical attention if you experience:

• Redness that continues to spread or worsen after 3–5 days.
• Severe, unbearable pain, especially when touched.
• Thick yellow or green pus with a foul odor.
• Fever (over 38°C), chills, or severe body aches.
